Our Philosophy of Care

At Sonder Psychology, we are guided by the idea of sonder — the recognition that every individual is living a life as complex, nuanced, and meaningful as our own.
This belief shapes the way we practise: with empathy, respect, and compassion for each individual’s unique experiences, challenges, and hopes. Every story carries its own depth, and every journey deserves to be met with care and understanding.
At the heart of our work is a commitment to providing a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space. We work collaboratively with our clients, empowering them with insight, practical skills, and emotional support.
A space to be deeply heard, thoughtfully understood, and gently supported... where insight begins.
Our Services
Our approach is guided by care and intention, with support thoughtfully tailored to each stage of the mental health journey for children, adolescents, and adults.
Support is offered in a range of formats to meet different needs and circumstances:
Individuals | Groups | Couples | Families

Therapy & Intervention
We provide personalised, evidence-based therapy tailored to the needs of children, adolescents, and adults. Sessions may be offered individually or in groups, depending on each person’s goals, needs, and stage of life.

Psychological Assessments
We provide comprehensive, evidence-based psychological assessments to better understand each individual’s cognitive, emotional, behavioural, and learning profile. Assessments support accurate diagnosis, guide intervention planning, and help inform recommendations for school, work, and daily functioning.

Corporate & School Services
We partner with organisations and educational institutions to support psychological wellbeing, strengthen resilience, and create environments where individuals can thrive.
Bringing together clinical expertise and compassion, our team of psychologists and therapists provides evidence-based care tailored to each individual’s journey.

Our Therapeutic Approach
We draw from a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, thoughtfully integrated to provide personalised and effective care. Every individual’s needs, experiences, and goals are different, so therapy is tailored with care rather than guided by a single fixed model.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a structured, evidence-based approach that explores the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. It helps individuals identify unhelpful thinking patterns and develop more balanced, realistic ways of understanding and responding to challenges.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
DBT is particularly helpful for individuals who experience intense emotions or difficulties with emotional regulation. It combines cognitive strategies with mindfulness and acceptance-based techniques, with a focus on building practical skills in: emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness and mindfulness.
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
MI is a collaborative and client-centred approach that helps individuals explore and resolve ambivalence about change. Rather than directing or advising, the therapist works alongside the individual to strengthen internal motivation and confidence. This approach is especially helpful when someone feels uncertain, resistant, or stuck in areas such as behaviour, habits, or lifestyle.
Eclectic and Integrative Therapy
We recognise that no single therapeutic approach fits every individual. For this reason, we often work integratively, drawing thoughtfully from different evidence-based models to meet each person’s unique needs and support meaningful progress. Our aim is always to create a therapeutic space that feels safe, thoughtful, and responsive, where insight can deepen and change can unfold at a pace that feels right for you.
